back with no bang

so, according to my last post, i haven't updated this spot in over a year. which makes sense when coupled with the fact that my radio show, the reason i started this blog, also came to an end at that time. for a while i considered putting together a recurring podcast to replace what i was up to on the radio, but i never moved forward. i partially felt like the spontaneity and anonymity of playing records over the airwaves is not something that can be replaced by a podcast, a capsule of sound that can be enjoyed whenever by whomever, but likely won't be found by the same strangers who might be knob-turning through the static. and not to say that i desire to reach those specific strangers, but i just wondered if i would have reached anyone outside of the know. you know?

plus, there's plenty of people already putting together podcasts and blogs with all kinds of interesting, exciting and obscure material to delve into.

and it certainly doesn't help that i never got around to making a best-of list for 2006.

perhaps i should resolve to be better about such things in the future.

yes, i am always non-committal.
